Equipment

  • Food processor (or rolling pin & ziplock bag for crushing Oreos)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula or spoon
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Microwave-safe bowl (for melting chocolate)
  • Fork or dipping tool

Ingredients

  • 36 Oreo cookies 1 standard package
  • 8 oz 226g cream cheese (softened)
  • 12 oz 340g chocolate (semi-sweet, dark, or white chocolate for coating)
  • Optional toppings:
  • Sprinkles
  • Crushed Oreos
  • Drizzled white/dark chocolate
  • Chopped nuts

Instructions

  • Step 1: Crush the Oreos
  • Place all 36 Oreo cookies into a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form.
  • If you don’t have a food processor, put the Oreos in a ziplock bag and crush them using a rolling pin until fine crumbs are achieved.
  • Step 2: Mix with Cream Cheese
  • Transfer the crushed Oreos to a large mixing bowl.
  • Add the softened cream cheese and mix until well combined. The mixture should be smooth and dough-like.
  • Step 3: Form the Balls
  • Scoop out small portions of the Oreo mixture (about 1 inch in diameter) and roll them into smooth balls using your hands.
  • Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Step 4: Chill the Balls
  • Refrigerate the Oreo balls for at least 30 minutes or until they are firm.
  • Step 5: Melt the Chocolate
  • Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until smooth.
  • Alternatively, melt the chocolate using a double boiler on the stove.
  • Step 6: Dip the Oreo Balls in Chocolate
  • Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  • Let excess chocolate drip off before placing the coated balls back onto the parchment paper.
  • Step 7: Add Toppings & Let Them Set
  • While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle toppings such as crushed Oreos, sprinkles, or drizzled chocolate.
  • Allow the Oreo balls to set at room temperature or refrigerate for 15 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
  • Step 8: Serve & Enjoy!
  • Once the chocolate has set, transfer the Oreo balls to a serving plate and enjoy!
